ANNOUNCEMENTS

Is anyone in touch with Jim Johnson? I believe he'd like to know about Rick McArthur's death. I think he visited Rick in Black River Falls not too long ago.

Rick McArthur died on September 6, 2017, in the hospital in Black River Falls, where he lived. I'm finding that I feel deprived, knowing he's no longer physically with us. He reconnected with me through this site in June of 2012. We met up in Minnesota for a few hours in 2014. Over the past five years, we had several hour-or-so conversations by phone, exchanged occasional e-mails and watched each others' Facebook postings.

He occupied a unique and special place in my life, although, in years, it was a rather short stretch. Five years, from age 16 to 21, then these past five years' contact. He was my first (of two) husbands. Both are now dead.

During these last five years, he told me I was his first love, his high school sweetheart and that Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman" always made him think of me because it was popular the summer we met, when we were both 16. I expect I shall miss his presence on this earth until the day I die.
